Jade Edwards confirmed for BTC Racing
Jade Edwards will compete in her first full season of the BTCC in 2021, after BTC Racing announced the 29 year old has agreed a deal to race for the Brackley outfit.
Edwards will team up with Josh Cook and Michael Crees to complete a three-car entry, and will become the first female driver to race a full campaign at the top level of the motorsport series.
Edwards made her debut last season in the BTCC, after having a one-off drive at Silverstone. She finished two of the three races that weekend
Tom Chilton to join Ciceley Motorsport for 2021 Campaign
Today, Ciceley Motorsport have announced Tom Chilton will join the team ard race alongside Adam Morgan in the 2021 British Touring Car Championship.
The squad will switch from the Mercedes Benz A-Class, which saw Morgan claim an impressive eight wins during their seven year partnership, and race the new BMW 3 Series.
Formula E & rFactor 2 announcec new competition
Studio397 and the Formula E World Championship have announced an exciting new competition to be held in 2021.
The Formula E: Accelerate esports competition will bring together sim racers from around the globe to complete a grid of 12 teams from the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
Teams will have the opportunity to select from at least three of the very fastest qualifiers, who will then go on to represent one of the official Formula E teams, and compete for the chance to win a share of €100,000 prize pool, and the overall winner will also get an unbelievable opportunity to drive a Gen2 Formula E car.
Qualifying is currently open for the event, and you have one week to set your flying lap around the Berlin Templehof E-Prix Circuit.

rFactor 2 Competition System
Studio397 recently announced the new competition system they are looking to introducing to rFactor 2,and they have published a blog giving us more information of what we can expect.
Following the news, they have also deployed a new build that gives a number of fixes and also some improvements to the UI VR rendering routine.
Magnussen & Grosjean to leave Haas
Formula One drivers Kevin Magnussen & Romain Grosjean have confirmed they will be leaving the team at the end of the 2020 season. Both drivers took to social media to announce their departures ending months of speculation.
Neither of the drivers have yet secured contracts for next year, and with seats filling quickly, it is unlikely that they will be on the Formula One Grid.
rFactor 2 Nordschleife update
Studio397 have announced the update and release of the Nurburgring Nordschlife track - very exciting indeed!
The team have been very hard at work and have made changes to PBR shaders and lighting balances bringing the iconic circuit to life. Other details that have been updated include refreshing a number of trackside objects, including emergency vehicles, crowds and public models including the fan campsites! New trees have also been 'planted' around the circuit making it feel and look as real as possible.
As well as the graphic updates, there is now support for upto 90 vehicles on all the layouts of the circuit using the Grand Prix lane. Syudio397 have also confirmed that all these fantastic changes shouldn't make your PC start smoking under the pressure of the enhancements, and they have bought in a new optimization pass too. F12020 Game Patch 1.12 released
Codemasters have finally announced that the new performance patch has been released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Here is a brief look at what we can expect:
> Updated vehicle performance, based on real-life current performance

New BTCC Game Details Announced
We announced back in May that a new British Touring Car game was rumored to be in development, and this was confirmed last month, generating a lot of excitement.
Further details have now been released, and the early signs are sounding promising. The game is being developed by quite a new studio, in Motorsport Games, who's work include the NASCAR Heat series. Stephen Hood, president of Motorsport Games and former creative director of Codemasters F1 series spoke to GT Planet about the game and answered a lot of questions from the community.
Perez To Miss British GP
Sergio Perez will miss this weekends British GP after positive for Covid-19. He has been ordered to self-isolate until symptoms subside.
Racing Point are set to announce his replacement on Friday.

BTCC Game Rumors Confirmed
Back in May, Buzzzinghornet reported rumors that a new British Touring Car game was being considered. This week Motorsport Games have confirmed the rumor, and the new game is set for release in 2022.
Not many details have been released yet, but the game will be a dedicated title to the British Touring Car Championship, and they have agreed a multi-year deal.
This is the news fans of the Codemasters TOCA series have been waiting for !

Brendan Hartley leaves GEOX Dragon
Brendan Hartley has left the GEOX Dragon Fromula E team with immediate effect just 2 weeks before the season gets back underway in Berlin.
The Kiwi joined the team for the start of Season 6 as part of a new driver line-up racing alongside Nico Muller.
Hartley scored GEOX Dragon's only points so far this season, after finishing in ninth place at the season opener as a result of a handful of post-race penalties.
Reserve drivers Sergio Camara and Joel Eriksson are the key candidates to fill the vacant seat for Formula E's six-race Berlin showdown, which starts on August 5th in the German Capital.
F1 2020 patch 1.5 out now (PC)
Codemasters have announced the new PC patch has now been released for F1 2020 with console updates to follow shortly.
Since its launch on July 6th, F1 2020 has made a step forward and this new patch addresses a few of the small details that have been identified by the community.
The patch comes with a few minor fixes to some of the outstanding issues within the title, but many fans will be hoping for the new black Mercedes livery which is not included this time.
PS4 and Xbox One players can expect an update in the next couple of weeks.

It's lights out, and away we go...!
After a long break, F1 is back! The drivers got a chance to blow away the cobwebs this morning in the first practice session at the Austrian GP. And it was the Mercedes duo that have started where they finished last season, topping the times ahead of Red Bull's Max Verstappen.
Lewis Hamilton finished top, 0.356s ahead of Valteri Bottas with the Red Bull a further three tenths back. The two McLaren's of Carlos Sainz Jr and Lando Norris finished 4th and 6th respectivley with Sergio Perez splitting the pair.

Audi confirms Rast for FE remainder
Formula E outfit Audi have announced that two-time DTM champion Rene Rast will replce Daniel Abt for the remaining six races of the 2019-2020 Formula E season.
Abt was effectively sacked by Audi after he used a sim racer to take his place in the onlice Race at Home Challenge competition.
Rast said: "I've been following Folmula E very closely for a longtime and am now looking forwrd to this new challenge".
Formula E announce season finale
Electric racing series, Formula E has announced that it resume AND conclude its championship in August. The series will run six races in nine days all taking place at the Berlin Tempelhof Airport. All other venues have been cancelled.
No fans will be allowed to attend the races, and a maximum of 1,000 people will be permitted on site at any given time, which includes the crew and all other 'essential staff'.
The six races will be run in pairs on back-to-back days, and Formula E have confirmed that they will use different track layouts for the events.
